Overview
Before I worked in social media and advertising, I was building my creative foundation at Iowa State University, where I studied Advertising and explored visual storytelling through video and photography. This page collects the multimedia work I created during that time, including [types of projects: class projects, campus events, student organization content, personal shoots]. Working behind the camera taught me how to plan a shot, edit with a clear message in mind, and make visuals that hold attention, skills I still use when creating social content and ad creative today.
Storytelling for Delta Phi Lambda
While at Iowa State, I created video content for Delta Phi Lambda, telling the story of the chapter from two very different angles. The first is a cinematic piece for our Xi Class, built around mood, mystery, and a strong visual identity. The second, "A Week in DPhiL," is a fast-paced, vertical-format look at what chapter life really feels like, from late-night study sessions to formals to award ceremonies. Together, they show my range: crafting a polished, atmospheric brand moment on one hand and creating quick, relatable social content on the other.
JLMC 3070: Video Production
In this course, I learned to create video as a communication tool for advertising, promotions, short documentaries, and public relations. I worked through the full production process, from planning and scripting to shooting, lighting, and digital editing, building both the technical and artistic fundamentals behind a polished video. The projects below show how I applied those skills, from concept to final cut.
A Decade Behind the Camera
My photography journey started behind the lens of my high school yearbook, where I learned to capture fast-moving action and tell a school's story one frame at a time. I carried that role through community college and into Iowa State University, growing from yearbook photographer into a professional photographer, shooting for Greek organizations, including my own sorority. The work below shows that progress over the years: sharper composition, better lighting, and a stronger eye for the moment that matters.
